BJC STUDENTS---ANSWER SHEET 2001 QUESTION 5

You have to buy the book to get the questions. I can only give you the answers. The book is $12.00.


a) The disease of leprosy is a dreaded skin disease that affects the nerves, the skin and
respiratory tract. It is a contagious(easily caught) disease. It can cause your toes, fingers any
affected area to rot and fall off.

ii. A leper in Jesus' day was commanded under Jewish laws to stay away from everyone and
was not to enter anyone's house. If someone approached them, they were to cry out in
warning: "Unclean, unclean."

b i. Jesus told the leper not to tell anyone about the healing; to go to the priest and do all that
the law required of a cured leper to do.

ii. If a leper think that he is healed, by Jewish law he was to go to the priest to declare him
clean, then he had to go through a ritual of purification and offer the sacrifices given in Lev.
14.

C. You must answer and be prepare to give your answer in class.

6. Three groups of people which made up the Council at Jerusalem were:
The Apostles, The Elders, and the Pharisees.

ii. Some Jewish Christians taught that Gentiles had to be circumcised in order to be a Christian.
This caused much confusinon, so the council had to meet to discuss and clear up the issue.

b. i. Peter told them that God showed His approval of the Gentiles by giving them the Holy
Spirit. He further said that the Gentiles did not need to be circumcised, that God
accepts people through grace.

ii. The instructions given were: No eating meat which was offered to idols
No sexual immorality
No eating meat from a strangled animal
No drinking blood. (Students it only ask for two. You could
choose any two, better yet know them all

7. (a) i. He healed a man who was paralysed in his legs from birth. He could not walk. Paul
healed him. The man was 40 years old.

ii. In Lystra there sat a man crippled in his feet, who was lame from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed and called out, "Stand up on your feet!" At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.


i. Because the lame man was healed, they took Paul and Barnabas for gods. They tried to offer sacrifice of bulls and flowers to Paul and Barnabas.

b. ii. Paul and Barnabas tore off their clothes to show they were not gods but human beings.
They told them that they had come to preach the gospel to turn away people from false
gods like Hermes and Zeus to the real and living God.

8. a. i. Agabus took of Paul's belt and bound him hand and feet and told him that he would be
arrested and bound when he goes to Jerusalem.
